Maybe Sit is a bit too charming for his own good. Sit has trouble holding a job, but so do most of his friends. Al Young (1939 – 2021) was an American poet, novelist, essayist, screenwriter, and professor. He was named Poet Laureate of California by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger from 2005 to 2008. Born to Cuban parents in France, Nin was the daughter of the composer Joaquín Nin and the classically trained singer Rosa Culmell. Nin spent her early years in Spain and Cuba, about sixteen years in Paris (1924–1940), and the remaining half of her life in the United States, where she became an established author. She was a finalist for the Neustadt International Prize for Literature in 1976. A Spy in House of Love is an exquisitely crafted, sometimes-puzzling little novel well worth reading for its beautiful language and occasionally penetrating insights.
